In this photo taken
on May 16, 2010 the official banner designed by Lebanese-born artist Ali
Hassoun for this year's Palio, the famous break-neck bareback horserace
around Siena's main piazza, is shown in Siena, Italy.
The painting caused a debate as it features St. George wearing what appears
to be a black and white checkered keffiyah and a picture of the Madonna,
featuring a crescent moon - a symbol of Islam - Arabic writing and a Star of
